The Founders

Our tradition of excellent service began in 1937, when brothers Myer and Harry Cherney started a small furniture business. This grew into a chain of eight Warehouse SaleCentres. In 1984, the furniture business was sold but the family held on to the real estate.

Harry’s wife, Erica, and members from both Harry and Myer’s branches of the family, presided over the growth of the business into a modern enterprise comprising 14 properties, featuring a combination of office, residential, retail and industrial uses. At the same time, Erica became a beloved community leader, with senior board roles at Trent University and TVOntario.

Sadly, Erica passed away in 2016. However, the extended family is maintaining continuity and the next generation of the family is excited to lead the business into the coming decades.
